James Willison is Managing Director of WCL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advisen, based out of London.
WCL provides the Global Insurance and Reinsurance market with ACORD based messages solutions, utilized in the electronic Placement and Accounting & Settlement of (re)insurance risks. James’ responsibilities include working with clients on the implementation of significant change and business process improvement projects. In addition, James is responsible for lead generation, sales and marketing and account management of many of the world’s largest insurance and reinsurance organizations.
Previously to working at WCL James worked as a Management Consultant in the Lloyd’s and London Insurance market, gained a joint honors degree in Law and Accountancy and achieved his chartered Insurer status.
Tim is a skilled IT professional, having over 24 years IT operational experience covering software and hardware implementation, IT operations and support, outsourcing and professional services which has resulted in his leading a diverse range of projects and teams across many industry sectors.

Tim’s employment history covers Ernst & Young, August, Telewest, Detica, Xerox and NetKonnect
In addition, Tim is a Certified Information Systems Security Specialist (CISSP), ISO27001 Lead Implementer and Lead Auditor, ACORD Certified Expert (ACE GRLC), an ITIL Service Management practitioner, and has a BSc (Hons) in Computing and IT.
Graham is an experienced and committed Insurance professional with over 30 years of leadership experience in the Broker IBA function. He has successfully undertaken a wide-range of operational, project management and executive leadership roles.
Graham has led both tactical and strategic business initiatives, contributing to the ‘big picture’ whilst also maintaining a clear understanding of the detail.
In recent years, he has provided significant leadership in the global roll-out of e-Accounting.
Ian Davies heads up our Client Services/Projects team in London.
The team supports customers to ensure goals are achieved on-time, with the required quality and within budget. The team covers product and project managements, SME’s and analysts.
Previously, Ian worked for 16 years with a leading Insurance broker spanning Placing, Accounting and Settlement and Treasury across Project, PMO and Portfolio management roles.
Danny McCarthy heads up our IT and Support team in London.
The support team at WCL deals with configuring and monitoring our client environments, alongside managing software faults and providing user-friendly assistance.
Previously, Danny worked for a facilities management company who was one of the world’s largest multinational corporations.
Nick Cartwright is our Software Development Manager.
He is a highly experienced financial services technology leader, having masterminded applications development in the mortgage industry—application processing systems to requirements, schedule and budget.
Nick has been at the helm of software development at WCL for 10 years, managing a talented team of developers. It is under his guidance that WCL was able to create its market leading gateway software.
Nick focuses on aligning WCL’s broad range of insurance software solutions to both existing WCL clients and potential new customers.
Nick has more than 20 years’ business development & account relationship management experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining WCL Nick worked for some of the leading global insurance/re-insurance companies including: Swiss Re, AIG & AXA.
Andrew founded Web Connectivity in 2003 building on his previous experience as an implementer of early Web service technology. He was – and still is – convinced that there had to be a better way to control the use of Web services and that conviction led to the concept and design of enabledB2B allowing senders and carriers to exchange electronic messages.
He has been a leading participant in various ACORD working groups, especially in the creation of Repository Interoperability standards and the ACORD Security Profiles implementation guide for Web Services Security.
Andrew was awarded the lifetime Achievement Award for 2013.
Andrew previously worked as CTO of August, where he implemented a shared Document Repository for a major London broker. Prior to this role he filled several technology-oriented positions in service provider / software house environments in the insurance industry.
